Whenever I paste embedded code for an external photo gallery, the page only shows about 1" of the photos. I've tried using different templates and adjusting the style. Nothing seems to help. Any suggestions?
Nothing like this, i just worked with existing one and many things changed in the objectives of this site.

Some more details might help to understand, what you're after.
Flickr is the external gallery. I input the album code into Flickrembed and it creates the code. I then put that into a Custom Block in a layout.
