The wizard is very unclear:

  • doesn't tell you to download the Dr7-version
  • doesn't tell you to rename

First, i put this here for reference.

Second, is it possible (and where) to suggest a better text for the installation-wizard?

@matthijsG I agree, the wizard is quite inclear when installing Backdrop in another language than English, so it's good to have a reference about it in the forum.

Btw, one thing has changed in the meantime: to install Backdrop in another language you don't have to  rename the .po file from drupal.org: see the fixed core issue here: github.com/backdrop/backdrop-issues/issues/2345. 

To suggest a better text for the installation-wizard, you can open an issue in the Backdrop core issue queue on Github.
