I tried to update my site earlier this afternoon and the update failed. I got the following message:

Backdrop database update

Updates were attempted. If you see no failures below, you may proceed happily back to your site. Otherwise, you may need to update your database manually. All errors have been logged.

I don't know how to fix this. Any pointers appreciated.

Forgive my ignorance, but what you've posted doesn't represent any error. How do you know the update failed? Was there an error message? Did the error message give any clue as to which update failed.

What were you updating? Just modules, just Backdrop, or everything?

You could try clearing caches and trying again.

Yeah, I was thrown by that when I first started using Drupal. It doesn't tell you that the update was successful, just that it presumably was if you don't see any actual error messages (usually in red with a big X in front of them) printed out on the screen. If you don't see big error messages, then you're good!

Maybe we can word the message better in the future (if it hasn't already been changed)?
