CKEditor does not show up (disappears) from any node, or configuration page. I noticed this after an upgrade.
I have this message in Reports:

Is that file there?

was not there... added it and fixed. Now I wonder what else did not get uploaded... When updated, it updated 10 database issue, and gave no problem messages...
thank you onyx. It is a multisite with many sites, all with the same problem. This is fixed.
Check how you are updating the site. I find that the Backdrop update system (reports>available updates) works more reliably than FTP, and is easier than using the likes of Webmin to upload the tar.gz, extract, overwrite, etc.
