Using configuration/system/system updates and then selecting the 1.35.1 update and 'Download all updates' then 'Continue' then 'Run site updates' then 'Continue' I get to a screen that says 'No pending updates. All caches cleared.' plus 'No updates needed'. I then select the 'Status report' and hey - I'm still on 1.35.0. Rinse & repeat!
This is on the hosting site Civihosting. The update worked on a test system on the same site, where there were 4 updates applied, but not on the live site. I tried clearing a PHP cache and also changed the PHP level to 8.3 (was 8.4). These didn't work. This site has been updated Ok before, so I'm puzzled why this should happen now. Anyone got any advice?

Did it on my end on some sites without problem. I don't know why this update would be different for you. Perhaps some file permission changes?

Probably not the reason, but worth to do a quick check:
Sometimes the update cache interferes, so if something's odd with updates - some module (or core) claims to have updated, but then it's the old version again, make sure to delete the update-cache-XXXX and update-extraction-XXXX directories in the temporary directory. Then run the update again.
This path of the temp dir is often /tmp but can be set to anything, you'll see what it's set to on admin/config/media/file-system
