I think, the user simply will not be allowed to create / edit / view node. This should not somehow affect to existing publications. Current rights and publication status have no connection.

We followed the steps of the documentation,
so we copied the content and the themes on backdrop en then we went to the page domain/core/...
Does the Administrator role of your site have the permission "Access administration bar"? (I think, you wouldn't notice the missing permission if your own account is the so called User 1.)

Friendly reminder, that #5927 (Make Backdrop core compatible with PHP 8.2) is still waiting for a final review. A lot of review has happened already last month.
82 changed files are a lot, but on the other hand, the majority of changes are trivial.
(Maybe to motivate a bit: Debian Bookworm, which has been released this month, ships with PHP 8.2 by default.)
