@docwilmot - Interesting... I didn't know that this was possible. It was my understanding, that every module needed at least a few minimal changes to work in Backdrop CSM. 

Your are suggesting that a very simple Drupal 7 module might work in Backdrop CMS without any changes. Do I understand that correct?

Have you tried it in Backdrop? It looks quite simple and may just work.

Actually youre right I skipped a step. You would need to change the line "core = 7.xxx" in the info file to "backdrop = 1.x". But that MIGHT just be it.
