I’ve been waiting for a long time for the Commerce shop system from Drupal to finally make its way to Backdrop CMS – so far in vain.
Now I just noticed among the newest modules “Commerce Backoffice”.
Is it possible that the Commerce shop system already exists on Backdrop CMS and I simply haven’t found it all this time?
Peter, I've done an initial port of Commerce PayPal. While I haven't tested it, I think it should work, as the module is not too complex.

You will able to check the status of the main module and the different add-on modules. It was ported but I don't think there are releases yet. You can install without a release using the manual install method. Look at the README for any statements about the state of readiness and also check the issue queue to see if there are any deal breakers.
If you test it and it works, let the maintainers know; if you find issues that haven't been raised yet, then please raise them.

I’ve been searching for this for months, and it’s been there all along—just extremely well hidden...
I immediately installed Commerce with the configuration of my Drupal 7 site, and the Backdrop version of Commerce ran flawlessly right away and behaves exactly like the Drupal 7 version. (I write it here because I have no github account)
Only payment providers like PayPal and Stripe (the commerce_stripe module in backdrop-contrib seems to still be the old version, which doesn’t work due to missing 3D Secure) are still missing.
And if I may say so as a beginner:
If this exists, at least publish an ALPHA or DEV version of Commerce on backdropcms.org so it can be found more easily and maybe attract more testers and developers for other Commerce modules.

I tested PayPal WPS (since I also use it in my Drupal 7 Commerce shop).
With the PayPal server SANDBOX mode (no real payment transaction, just simulated).
And everything worked perfectly. I was able to complete the purchase process fully and didn’t see any errors.
I’ll continue testing it over the next few days, including the other PayPal payment methods.
