Since installing Simplenews 1.x-1.2.3, I have been getting many repeated warnings in the administration area:

Simplenews is not fully compatible with the Honeypot module. Unexpected behavior may occur.

How can I determine what is causing this warning and what exactly needs to be done to resolve it, other than uninstalling Honeypot completely? I would prefer to keep Honeypot enabled.

It doesn't look like Simplenews is compatible with Honeypot at all.

But there are several alternatives for the latter (Honeypot) to protect from spambots, like for example Antibot.

If you have to insist for some reason, to have both modules enabled, better open an issue in the Simplenews issue queue on GitHub.

FTR: this odd warning has been added in this commit.
