Drupal to Backdrop Module Conversion HOWTO?

Hello Everyone,

I'd like to try my hand at converting a (simple) Drupal 7 module into a Backdrop CMS compatible/compliant module.

Is there a Drupal to Backdrop Module Conversion HOWTO that goes over a typical module conversion including the high-level process, tooling employed, common pitfalls and "tips & tricks"?

Forgive me if this is well-trodden ground and the resource is readily available somewhere.

Before posting this appeal, I searched the Forum with a bunch of what I thought were  highly-relevant search strings and came up empty except for results that discussed:

• Entire website pre/post conversion question/problems/comments
• Specific module pre/post conversion questions/problems/comments

What I am really looking for is a meta-level "Module Porting" guideline document.
