@yorkshirepudding, In the end I fixed it by deleting the config/active folder contents, copying the config/staging/ files into config/active, importing the database again and clearing the caches...

That is not a core field so my guess is it must exist, though perhaps it is a field defined but without any instances. A few places to check: admin/reports/fields - is it...

I'm not aware of a simple way to revert all views to their default in one operation.
There were already questions about Views restoration to default settings, but I did not see a simple answer — install a clean copy of Backdrop and make an export > import. I always have a copy Backdrop “for experiments” on a local server, very convenient.
