I recently crashed one of my sites and had the host company roll it back. This seemed to restore the site but at a previous version of Backdrop. I tried to update the site using the update system command. This failed and stated that the file it was downloading was an invalid archive. The exact error message is:
Cannot extract temporary://update-cache-ad1056a4/backdrop.zip,
Can someone tell me if this is my problem or a problem on Backdrop's end?

Hi bill_lea.
There are other posts in the forum that may help:

OK so I have tried several things among which are running Update.php as withe mysite,com/update.php Going to Home adn running update there coing to performance adn running ipdate there. I all cases My site crashes and I have to reload it form the hosts backup. So most of the proffered cures don't work. I haven,t looked to see about the file status. I have found the xip files on MY system but I do not know where Backdrop tries to unpack them at. I will look at it as soon as I can restore the site.
