I have a client with 3 D7 sites, all of which use LDAP. We use Authentication, Authorization, Authorization - Drupal Roles, and Servers. None of the other submodules. Is this on anybodies list?

I think, the user simply will not be allowed to create / edit / view node. This should not somehow affect to existing publications. Current rights and publication status have no connection.

Does the Administrator role of your site have the permission "Access administration bar"? (I think, you wouldn't notice the missing permission if your own account is the so called User 1.)
