Is there a setting or contrib module that will either set the default link setting for external links to open in a new tab OR to just automatically do this all the time on the site?

Thanks. I found this module after posting my question but have not had a chance to test it yet. 

From the description, it's not clear if this module forces all external links to open in a new tab - or simply adds an external link icon. 

I can post a clarification here, once I am able to test the module.

It provides options to do either, or both (and more).

Thanks. I've confirmed that this module does accomplish both tasks. I may submit a PR to update the readme to better reflect this feature.
