Has anyone found a good Backdrop alternative to the Drupal Subscriptions module for BackdropCMS?
Would like for a user to be able to subscribe to get email notifications if a node has been updated or if new content is published. Any ideas?

I was going to say the same thing :-)
Another related module is comment_notify
Although it looks like comment_notify is not needed when node_notify is used. Does node_notify also send notifications when the node is updated?
