How can I make the display of pages and posts in Backdrop so that they appear like in a blog? I have installed the blog module, but how can I make it so that a post is not only displayed on the start page or in the menu, but also sorted by time one below the other? Is there a specific layout for this? With my backdrop installation, the start page is always displayed, with the footer below it - but nothing appears below that (as with wordpress blogs or drupal)... - What am I doing wrong?

I am new with backdrop and did use drupal before...

Hi Dorothea

You can have a View with content sorted how you want and then either create a Page display of the view with the path you want or create a Block display of the View and place it wherever you want in whatever layout you want.

You can even have multiple View displays with slightly different config and display them in different places.

If you want to display on your start page, create a Block display and place it in the "Home page" Layout.

Thanks! But my problem is: I have no experience with "views" (how to create and not to damage the CMS). In Drupal i did not create a new "View" but can use other pages / contents outside the "start-Page"... - is this in Backdrop only possible, if i use the views-module and by creating an own new "view" and than the next steps, you wrote?
I am no software-engeneer and did not study informatik, so the use of the views-module is something, i have great respect before...

I changed to backdrop, because i had the impression, that this is for people using a CMS and having not so much knowledge in software details like professional developers have... ?

But thanks for your answer and the other answers!

There is a Recent content view that comes out of the box, is available as a block and may do what you need.

Next week, we have an event called Backdrop Live and there is likely to be a German language session in Block D.  See the block at the top right of this page.  You can also request a session to cover what you want when you register.

If you are interested and available during Block D - see https://events.backdropcms.org/schedule - I would be happy to do a session on Views or layout, where you can get targeted answers and demos to help you with your questions.

There are a couple menu items built into blog module that might help too. There's a bit more info in the README
